VOLT SPARK AWARDS

The Volt Spark Awards are a monthly, community-driven recognition program created to spotlight the local businesses and organizations that make a meaningful impact in Sylacauga and the surrounding communities.

Each month features a new theme and set of categories, allowing the community to nominate and vote for the places that deserve recognition — from small businesses and service providers to nonprofits and organizations making a difference.

HOW IT WORKS

MONTHLY THEME ANNOUNCED

Each month has a unique theme (ex: New Year, Fresh Start) that guides the categories and nominations. Themes and categories are announced at the beginning of each month.

COMMUNITY VOTING OPENS

Voting is open to the public through PollUnit, an external poll platform.

WRITE-IN YOUR NOMINATIONS

Voters type in the name of the business or organization they believe deserves recognition — no preset lists.

VOTES ARE TALLIED AND REVIEWED

Votes are transparent. Submissions are reviewed for accuracy and fairness, including standardizing business names.

WINNERS ARE ANNOUNCED

Winners are highlighted across Volt Media Group platforms and recognized as that month’s Spark Award recipients.

ELIGIBILITY

HOW TO VOTE

To keep the Spark Awards truly local:

  • Businesses and organizations must be locally owned or locally operated

  • Must be located in Sylacauga or the surrounding communities

  • Must actively serve the local community

Organizations or businesses outside the region are not eligible.

Voting for the Volt Spark Awards is quick and easy:

  1. Click the “Vote Now” button below

  2. You’ll be redirected to our official voting poll

  3. Enter the business or organization name for each category

  4. Submit your vote — that’s it!

One submission per device, per voting period to ensure fair results.
